Traditional American fast food is not a sustainable choice for frequent business travelers.

One bad meal can ruin your work day; disrupting your gut, increasing brain fog, and impairing your ability to focus. So instead of defaulting to highly processed fast food, prioritize these cuisines instead.

1 — Japanese

Japanese is great because it’s primarily comprised of rice and fish. Opt for sashimi and white rice, and avoid anything tempura or anything that contains sugary sauces.

2 — Mexican

Mexican is a great cuisine to prioritize because, similar to Japanese, it’s easy to prioritize protein. Prioritize high-quality proteins like chicken, steak, shrimp, and fish, and avoid chips that are likely fried in seed oils.

3 — Peruvian

There are not many places where you can order just chicken. But most Peruvian places will give you the option to order a quarter, half, or even a full chicken. It’s easy to get your protein in with Peruvian, but try to avoid any fried plantains or french fries that are made with seed oils.
